Why Success Should Never Be Your Target-www.ncss.org.cn

Self-Improvement "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful." Albert Schweitzer (Theologian, Physician, Philosopher, and Musician) When you think about success what does it bring to mind? For many it will be material things like the big house, the flash sports car, or the luxurious yacht sitting in the marina. You may regard the lifestyles of the rich and famous – dining at the best restaurants, holidaying in exotic locations, and attending all manner of society events – as the sure signs of success. But are they the true indicators? Certainly all these things are the results of having the money to afford them and that may have .e as a result of some sort of success or achievement. But the reality is that the people enjoying them will usually have got them in one of two ways. Either they were born into rich families and know no different, or they have made their money in some enterprise. If it’s the latter then it is highly unlikely they would have achieved those results without doing something they love. Aim to be happy and success, in whatever form is relevant to you, will follow. It’s a simple thing to say but not always easy to do. With all the .mitments and demands of modern life you can easily find yourself slipping into a routine of doing what you think you have to do rather than being happy and pursuing your dream. If you truly want it, you can be happy but you do need to take a little time to understand what happiness really means to you, and sometimes you may be surprised that it is not what you initially thought. Here are some ways to help you focus: – Take a long hard look at all you do at present and see what makes you happy. You may find it useful to make lists of the things you really dislike, those that you do because you have to, those that are moderately enjoyable, and the few that really bring joy to your life. How can you spend a bit more time on the joyful things and less on those you dislike. – Look at what other people are doing that you would like to. Can you make changes that will enable you to start doing so? – Think back to your childhood or the times in your teens or early adulthood and see what you did that you really enjoyed. What were the things you dreamed of doing or the person you dreamed of be.ing? Are they still relevant and if so, what can you do to make them reality? – Look at images like photos, paintings, books, or magazines and identify those that represent something you would like in your life. Consider what you can do to attain them. – Regularly find time to go to places that make you happy and just take time to think about why they make you feel that way. Spend time in the .pany of people you like and see what makes them different from those that you don’t. What changes can you make to get more of the good and less of the bad? Only you can know what will truly make you happy but once you do be sure to aim for it. Success will most certainly follow. About the Author: 相关的主题文章:
